Kirby getting a new manga series in Japan

While they’re not nearly as common as those from other publishers, Nintendo franchises have received several manga adaptations. Many fans know about the Legend of Zelda manga from Akira Himekawa, or the (long-running) Super Mario-kun series from Yukio Sawada. But did you know that Kirby also got several ones?

In fact, the latest one ended in the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine, which was released last week (on September 15th). But it’s not the end for Kirby, as a new series was announced in the same issue. Called Hoshi no Kirby: Manpuku Pupupu Fantasy, it’s drawn by Takeuchi Ibuki (who previously published Challenge-shit Miroman in the same magazine).

Here’s a preview pic of this new manga adaptation:

Kirby CoroCoroThe Hoshi no Kirby: Manpuku Pupupu Fantasy will debut in the November issue of CoroCoro magazine, to be released on October 15th in Japan. Unfortunately, it’s extremely unlikely that a publisher will pick up this new series and publish outside Japan, especially since (like the others) it’s main target is kids.

And while we’re talking about Nintendo’s cute pink ball, here’s various pieces of merchandise releasing in October in Japan (with bags, t-shirt, plushies, cups, keyrings, and much more):
