Fixed an issue preventing players from retrieving broken traps.
Fixed an issue causing multiple wild animals to get trapped in a box trap.

Increased the number of save states per save file to 5.

Improved fishing ease at the waterfall fishing spot.
You can now build and relocate structures on top of rice paddies.

Bug fixes

Fixed a bug causing the Cashmere goat not to be unlocked under certain conditions.
Fixed a bug causing the effects of fertilizers not to be applied.
Adjusted the appearance rates for the following skills: Ore Vein Discovery, Ore Vein Discovery+, Mirror and Sword Discovery.
Fixed some other unintended behaviours.

New features and improvements

Added a sound effect that plays when a hole to the next floor appears in the quarry.
Increased the drop rate of glass shards.
Relaxed the unlock conditions for spring vegetable seeds and fruits.
Added tips on changing the range of farming tools.
When requesting help, unsold seeds and livestock are no longer selected.
Made it easier to pick up lost items on the map.
When you pick up items, you can now pick up all identical items in the vicinity at once.
Items that have been rebranded and renamed now display their item icons before the name.
Added UI button for switching items when the inventory is expanded with the Large Bag.
Added tips on using a pickaxe to clear fields and remove seedlings.
You can now harvest crops with a sickle.

Fixed a bug preventing you from leaving your home the day after a holiday (festival or fair).
Fixed a bug causing an event normally occuring at 7PM on Day 7 of Spring in Year 1 (required to progress through the story) not to occur.
Fixed a bug impacting the crop harvest tutorial that normally occurs on Friday the 5th of Spring in Year 1. If the field is surrounded by furniture or fencers, you cannot enter it to harvest turnips, preventing you from progressing.
Fixed a bug causing the game to become unplayable, which occured if you kept playing after receiving the completion rewards from the “Cow Ghost” event while all livestock sheds capable of housing cows or goats had been removed.
Fixed other minor bugs.

How to download updates for Village in the Shade on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2?

To download the updates for Village in the Shade, you have three options:

let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
