  • Adds a feature that lets you see which teams other players used to complete each battle. In addition to being able to see teams that have been frequently used to complete each area, you’ll also be able to check Sync Grid examples and see replays of other players’ battles. You’ll be able to refer to other players’ teams, builds, and playing styles with this feature, so we hope you’ll take advantage of it and take on battles that you may have had trouble with before.
  • Adds a feature that will expand the customization options for the Main Character’s appearance, including the ability to change their hairstyle.

Addition of the Restart Battle Feature
  • A Restart Battle feature will be added to the Quit button.
  • Go to the Battle Menu during a battle and tap the Quit button to select Quit or Restart Battle.
  • By tapping on Quit, you will quit the battle like usual.
  • If you tap on Restart Battle, you can retry the current battle from the beginning with the same team.
    • Note: Co-op Battles do not support the Restart Battle feature.
Sync Pairs Featuring Trainers with the Same Name
  • You will now be able to have multiple Sync Pairs that include Trainers with the same name in your team.
  • Optimized teams can also have Sync Pairs that feature Trainers with the same name.
    • Note: This also applies to the Main Character’s Sync Pair, so you can add them to the same team to participate in the battle.
    • Note: This change only applies to battles, and the same Trainer cannot be selected for Trainer Lodge expeditions.
Item Exchange Menu Category Updates
  • In addition to reorganizing the General category within the Item Exchange menu, three new categories will be added.
  • Alongside these additions, some of the items in the General category will be moved to these new categories.
    • Note: Please check out each screen of the Item Exchange menu for more details about exchangeable items.
    • Note: There will be no changes to the exchangeable items themselves or the amount of items required to make an exchange.

Passive Skill Issues Resolved
  • The following issues that affected the Persisting Shield 5 and Persisting Barrier 5 Passive Skills have been fixed:
    • The effects of the Passive Skills are not being applied to the Physical Damage Reduction effect and the Special Damage Reduction effect that occur as Special Parameters in the Champion Stadium or due to the use of items in the Battle Villa.

About the Type Rebuff Status Change
  • The new Type Rebuff status change has been added.
    • The Type Rebuff status change is available for each of the 18 Types, and they can either increase or decrease the damage taken from that Type. They can be raised or lowered by three ranks, and the higher the rank is, the less damage is taken. Conversely, the lower the rank is, the more damage is taken. Switching out a Sync Pair will remove all of its Type Rebuffs.
    • Note: Type Rebuff is a different status change from Type Resistance.
Changes to a Passive Skill Description
  • Changed the description of “Piercing Blows” as follows:
    • Before Change:
      • Grants all of the following effects when the user is attacking with a move or sync move.
    • After Change:
      • Grants all of the following effects when the user is attacking.
    • Note: The Before Change and After Change text only show the changed portions, not the entire description.
    • Note: The changes to the description will not change the effects of this skill.

About the New Level Cap
  • A new level cap has been unlocked, and the level cap can be raised to Lv. 150.
    • Note: After Lv. 141, the level cap can be raised one level at a time up to Lv. 150.
    • Note: The level cap can be unlocked for all Sync Pairs.
  • A new item required to unlock the new level cap, Certificate of Excellence, will be added.
    • You can obtain the Certificates of Excellence mainly from Special Friendship Level Rewards and the Lodge Exchange in the Trainer Lodge.

In-game Text Changes
  • The description of certain Passive Skills will be changed as detailed below to match the descriptions of the other Passive Skills.
    • Arresting Glare 1-9
      • Before Change: Lowers the opponent’s Speed by one stat rank.
      • After Change: Lowers the Speed of an opponent that attacked the user by one stat rank.
    • Power Siphon 1-9
      • Before Change: Lowers the opponent’s Attack by one stat rank.
      • After Change: Lowers the Attack of an opponent that attacked the user by one stat rank.
  • Note: The Before Change and After Change text only show the changed portions, not the entire description.

UI Improvements
  • Made various improvements to the in-game UI.

Improvements to the Sync Pairs Menu

  • The appearance of the Sync Pairs menu has been changed.
  • Sync Pairs can be trained via Upgrades in the Sync Pairs menu.
  • A feature to upgrade multiple aspects of a sync pair at once has been added to some sections of the Upgrades. You can now tap on the Max Upgrade button to use multiple items required to perform a particular upgrade all at once.
  • A feature to perform multiple upgrades at once has been added to some sections of the Upgrades. You can now tap on the Multiple Upgrades button and then select Level, Unlock Level Cap (Affinity in the case of Egg sync pairs), and Theme Skills to use as many of the available upgrade items for the selected upgrade as you can.
  • Upgrade Gear now allows you to Level Up multiple times at once.
  • You can now navigate to Bellis’s Lab via a Lab button in the Sync Pairs menu.

Reverse Item Lookup

  • Some item details screens will now show the quantity of the item you have in stock.
  • Some item details screens will now include the Where to Find button.
  • You can now access the area info or features where you can find an item by checking its Where to Find list.
  • You can now access the area info and features where Battle Points can be earned from the Battle Point Tier Reward screen.

Common Shortcut Feature

  • Some screens now allow you to open the common shortcut screen, enabling you to directly access each feature.

Certain Button Adjustments

  • The button that takes you to Bellis’s Lab from the Pokémon Center has been removed.
  • The location of the button that takes you to Mission Bingo from the Pokémon Center has been changed.

  • You can now access the Upgrades screen from some Sync Pairs details screens.

Champion Stadium
  • You can now check the types of pieces you have obtained for the Champion Stadium (Hard Lv. 1) Medal on the battle prep screen.
  • If you complete the battle, the pieces you would obtain by entering the Hall of Fame are marked as “In progress,” and you will receive them once you have entered the Hall of Fame.
  • Note: If you are unable to enter the Hall of Fame within the week, the “In progress,” marks disappear.
  • Note: You can view the medal pieces you have obtained by tapping the Pieces button on the battle prep screen and checking the Medals prompt that appears.
  • Note: You will not be able to check completion progress for Medals of any regions where you have already completed the Champion Stadium Medal by filling in all 18 types of pieces.
Improvements to Battles
  • Expanded the kinds of battles that will display a confirmation prompt when quitting the battle upon defeat. By selecting Battle Again following your defeat in an eligible battle, you can retry the battle from the beginning with the same team. Selecting Back will confirm your defeat.
  • Note: This improvement applies to the following battle types: Battle Villa, Legendary Arena (and Legendary Gauntlet), and Full-Force Battles.
  • Unusable Sync Pairs will now appear at the bottom of the list on the Edit Team screen displayed before setting out for certain battle areas.

  • Sync Pair Filter Update
    • The Sync Pair Filter has been updated. This allows for more detailed filtering by Move Target in the Known Moves section, so we hope you make use of it when editing your team.
  • Behavior of the Story Skip Function
    • For some areas, using the Skip button while playing will skip to the end of the story. This updated function will apply to stories to be added in the future (excluding some areas with special formats).
  • Easily Check Unobtained Medal Pieces for the Champion Stadium
    • You can now check from the Edit Team screen if you’ve obtained the pieces corresponding to each type for Medals in the Champion Stadium on Hard Lv. 1.
  • Battle and Team Editing Update
    • To immediately improve the usability of future Legendary Gauntlet events, we’ve updated the game’s battle loss prompts and Edit Team screen.
      • We’ve expanded the kinds of battles that will display a confirmation prompt when quitting the battle upon defeat. By selecting Battle Again following your defeat, you can retry the battle from the beginning with the same team.
      • Unusable Sync Pairs will now appear at the bottom of the list on the Edit Team screen displayed before setting out for certain battle areas.

Egg Hatching Requirements
  • The hatch gauge has been removed and you will no longer need to win battles to hatch your Eggs.
  • Eggs that have fulfilled the required time needed to hatch before the update will hatch immediately after the update.
  • The maximum number of Eggs that can be placed in an incubator via the Auto-incubate feature after purchasing an Eggcelerator Pass has been increased from four to eight if you have purchased the Egg Box Expansion.

Victory Road
  • Victory Road has been newly added to the Champion Stadium.
  • Playing through Victory Road will teach you strategies for winning difficult battles.
Special Completion Rewards
  • Special Completion Rewards have been added.
  • Special Completion Rewards are rewards obtained by meeting certain conditions in the Main Story and the Champion Stadium.
  • A Story Bundle and a Champion Bundle that allow you to obtain Special Rewards when you earn Special Completion Rewards have been added.
Other Updates
  • A category icon has been added to each Move’s button and description in order to distinguish whether the Move is a physical attack move, special attack move, or status move.
  • On the battle start screen, the Edit button was removed and a new Tactics button has been added.
  • The Edit button has been removed from the Edit Team screen when using Create Your Own Team in co-op battles.
  • The number of sync pairs is now displayed above the GO! button for battles that require the number to be displayed (such as the Legendary Arena).
  • The design of the Move button was changed for Moves that target all allies and/or all opponents.
  • To enhance visibility, the icons that show changes to stats during battle—such as Attack and Defense—will now flash when they reach their maximum or minimum stat ranks.

Updates to the Explore Menu
  • Courses and supercourses found in the training area will be removed.
  • To coincide with the removal of courses and supercourses, the current training area will be renamed the EX Plaza, and a brand-new training area will be added as a place where items for training can be obtained. Items used to unlock level caps as well as sync orbs can be obtained through battles in the new training area.
  • A stamina function will be introduced as a trial. Some battles will require stamina to play, but there will also be battles that do not require stamina.
    Note: Based on feedback from players, we are taking a flexible approach to the stamina function, including the possibility of removing it. We would appreciate any additional feedback you can provide after playing this new update.
  • To coincide with the addition of stamina, various in-game rewards will be adjusted.
  • Skip tickets will be introduced. Using a skip ticket before some battles where you have met the requirements will allow you to skip the battle and obtain the rewards immediately.
  • Player rank will be introduced. Your player rank increases as you use stamina, and your maximum stamina will increase according to your player rank.
  • The limit of one Super Hard difficulty battle per week in Main Story (co-op) will be removed.
  • You will be able to take on EX Challenges by yourself by forming three teams using your own Sync Pairs
Updates to Sync Pairs
  • Type skills will be introduced. Type skills are new skills that all sync pairs will have. They are activated when you have two or more sync pairs on your team that share the same sync move type.
  • Moves and skills will no longer have to be learned. Instead, all sync pairs will know all of their moves and passive skills from the beginning.
  • The level cap unlocking feature up to the third tier will be removed. The level caps of all sync pairs will be adjusted to coincide with this change. The initial level cap of all sync pairs will be 100, regardless of their number of ★s.
  • The number of items required to unlock the level caps of some sync pairs will be reduced.
Updates to Items
  • Some items, such as the Buff Blend and the Training Machine, will become redundant following the changes.
  • Some of the redundant items can be exchanged for other items in the Exchange Items menu.

Updates to Missions
  • Weekly Mission Bingo will be removed. For Gems that could be obtained as Bingo Rewards in Mission Bingo, the daily mission rewards will be adjusted so as not to reduce the number of Gems obtainable in one week.

How to download updates for Pokémon Masters for Android and iOS?

To download updates for Pokémon Masters, you have two options:

  • tap on the notification that should appear on your phone;
  • go to the App Store / Google Play Store, and more precisely to the “My Apps & Games” section > Installed tab (Play Store, Android) or the Updates tab (AppStore, iOS).
