Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories – Developer Diary #2 (Town Square)

A few months ago, Natsume announced Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, the second entry in their own Harvest Moon series (separate from the original, now called Story of Seasons in the West). Unfortunately, we still know next to nothing about the game itself, and that’s why the Producer of the game started a Developer Diary last week.

Harvest Moon: Seeds of MemoriesIn this second post, Taka Maekawa (Producer) talks about one of the central elements of any Harvest Moon game: the Town Square. In previous entries, there has been a wide variety of towns: big, small, spread out or compact for example. He’s always favored to compact towns, where you can see the villagers moving around, and with a center location where everyone gather for special events (such as festivals):

I have always been partial to the compact towns, with everyone moving around busily in their daily schedules, and a center location where the townsfolk gather for festivals and special events. Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will have just this: a town full of life, and a town square where festivals will be held.

He then explains that the Town Square will play a big role in Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, since that’s where all the festivals will be held (such as the Cooking Festival in Spring and Fall). Festivals are a great way to interact with the villagers, and learn more about them, their dreams, etc.. You will also be able to raise your affection level with your Bachelor/Bachelorette of choice!

Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will come out on Wii U.
