Genei Ibun Roku #FE: new character trailer (Yashiro Tsurugi) and overview trailer

Genei Ibun Roku #FEToday is Friday Thursday, which means it’s already time for the latest official website update for Genei Ibun Roku #FE! This time around, we get two new trailers: the first one is the character trailer for Yashiro Tsurugi (the 7th Mirage Master, and one of the playable characters), and the second one is the usual overview trailer Nintendo uploads a few weeks before a major game releases.

Let’s start right away with the character trailer for Yashiro Tsurugi, who is voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya. His Mirage is Navarre / Nabarl (voiced by Takehito Koyasu), from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon / Mystery of the Emblem / Awakening. He is described as a genius, capable of doing pretty much any performance: singing, dancing, and even acting. He rarely shows his emotions. For some reason, he ends up confronting the other Mirage Masters from Fortunta Entertainment at one point.

Next, we have the overview trailer. It starts by showcasing some story cutscenes, and briefly introduces the main characters. Genei Ibun Roku #FE takes place in a modern-day Tokyo, with evil Mirages (beings from another world) coming in order to steal Performa from entertainers. The characters have to ally with “good” Mirages, heroes from the Fire Emblem series (such as Chrom or Navarre), in order to defeat them.

Throughout the game, you will have to explore various dungeons, called Hydra Spheres. They are filled with various tricks and puzzles, and you have to solve them in order to progress and find the boss. During battles, you have to take advantage of weaknesses in order to get the upper hand, and those are basically the same as in the Fire Emblem series.

When your Special gauge is filled, you can launch some powerful Skills, which will be key to victory in many battles. Just like in most RPGs, defeating enemies allows your characters to get some XP, and then level up. Obviously, Mirages also level up, and you get to learn new Skills, and more. The trailer also showcases Radiant and Carnage Unit, as well as Class Change.

Finally, the trailer gives us another looks at Topics: a tool that allows you to receive instant messages from other characters. With those messages, you can progress through the story, but also triggers side stories. Completing those is a great way to learn more about the various characters, but also to unlock new Skills, and more.
