Dragon Quest Joker 3 Professional: additional details

Following the article in V-Jump magazine, where it was revealed it would the “Grand Finale” of the Joker series, Square-Enix has opened the official for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Professional: you can click here to check it out. It’s a bit empty at the moment, but it does feature additional details about the game.

Let’s start with the monsters: as mentioned previously, there’s over 700 of them in this Professional version. It includes some from Dragon Quest X and Hoshi no Dragon Quest. As for the Riding System, it has been completely revamped:

  • you can now ride any monster (almost) anywhere (you don’t have to switch to a water type monster to swim, for example);
  • you can now ride giant monsters, and of course, attack monsters while riding (like you would with a regular monster). You can also trample small enemies on your way.

The game will also feature brand new areas, filled with slightly different monsters than usual. During your adventure, you will be accompanied by Nochorin (from the Nochora Clan) who helps you in the field, and even battles by your side.

This Professional version will also include extra features such a:

  • Story Shortcuts: allows you to fastforward to specific cutscenes. Pretty useful for players who have already played the game, as the main story is exactly the same as in the original;
  • Synopsis: you can read a synopsis of specific story scenes;
  • Speed Battles: you can now speed up battles not just when playing in Single Player, but also during online and local wireless battles.

The developers also made it so your character moves much faster when on the field.

Finally, the official website explains that while you will be able to transfer your monsters from the original version of the game, there will be a limit of 10/day. At the very least, you will be able to keep their skill, size, and colours.

Here’s some screencaps from the official website:
