Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King headed to the Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch had a Zelda game at launch (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), and for players looking for a more traditional experience, there’s Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas from FDG Entertainment. And for those looking for a 2D game, there’s Ittle Dew 2+, and… Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King!

Greatly inspired by top-down 2D Zelda game, Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is described as a “vast open world game”. You get to play as Lily, Knight of the Rose, who has to slay her way through monster-infested dungeons in order to save the Kingdom of Blossom from… eternal darkness. No, not the game. Actual darkness, and eternal to boot.

To do so, you can collect unique weapons, spells, and more during your journey. You will need them to take down powerful bosses, but also solve many puzzles, in classic Zelda fashion!

Here’s the main features of the game:

  • 15+ hours of gameplay
  • Huge, diverse game world with many different locations
  • 5 challenging dungeons
  • Various items impacting gameplay and fighting style
  • Fun, charming storytelling

Finally, here’s a trailer and some screenshots:

Unfortunately, we don’t really know much about the Nintendo Switch version: exclusive features and/or additional content? Hopefully, FDG Entertainment and Castle Pixel will share some details soon!

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King (Switch – eShop) does not have a release date yet, but it’s already been added to the Upcoming Games page!
