88Heroes: 98 Heroes Edition headed to the Nintendo Switch next month

It looks like Rising Star Games is among the many publishers that have literally fallen in love with the Nintendo Switch (or rather, the thirst for games from its audience!). They’re bringing several games to the platforms, including Lumo and… 88Heroes, a rather wacky action platformer developed by Bitmap Bureau.

Never heard of 88Heroes before? Here’s what the story is all about:

It’s 8:08am on 8th August 1988, and the evil Dr. H8 has brought the world to the brink of total annihilation! His demands are simple: pay $88 octillion within 88 minutes, or Dr. H8’s 88 thermo-nuclear warheads will wipe out the Earth! But who will save us in our time of need? The bravest? The boldest? No… the 88 Heroes!

In this game, you have to infiltrate Dr. H8’s lair, and to do so, you have to rely on the “strangest, dumbest, and most pointless superheroes ever”. The game features 88 levels, and you have 88 seconds only to complete each one. Every hero has their own special abilities, and you will definitely need them all to put a stop to Dr. H8’s doom plans.

On Nintendo Switch,  the game will be called 88Heroes – 98 Heroes Edition, and will feature the following:

  • everything from the original release
  • the RSG Champions DLC pack (featuring characters from other indie games published by Rising Star Games, such as Rusty from SteamWorld Collection, Gunborg from Zombie Vikings, and Conga Master, from Conga Master)
  • the upcoming H8 Mode Activate DLC pack (featuring 2 playable characters, and 8 hardcore challenge levels).

Finally, here’s a trailer and some pictures for the game:

88Heroes (Switch) will be released on October 2nd in North America, and October 10th in Europe. It has already been added to the Upcoming Games page!
