amiibo: Kirby and Smash Bros. dioramas releasing this month in Japan, bundle, packaging

Even though Nintendo intended amiibo to be used to “enhance” gameplay (with extra features, goodies, and even modes), it’s pretty clear many players buy them as collector items. Some of them have even come up with pretty creative and/or original ways to display them, with some really neat shelves or dioramas for example.

In Japan, Nintendo released an official dioarama for Animal Crossing last year. Players had to buy Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and some amiibo in order to get it, as it was not available for purchase. And today, Nintendo announced that two additional diorama would be released at the end of the month in Japan, and this time around, they will be available for purchase in stores.

There will be two dioramas, and both will be released on April 28th in Japan. They are for Kirby and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / Nintendo 3DS, though obviously, you can display whichever amiibo you want. Also, Nintendo will also release a special bundle for the Kirby diorama, which includes a Kirby amiibo (from the Kirby series).

Here’s some pictures of the two dioramas (and their packaging):

  • Kirby diorama (824 Yen)

  • Kirby amiibo (Kirby series) + Kirby diorama (2 160 Yen)

  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS diorama (824 Yen)

Unfortunately, we don’t know if Nintendo is planning to release those dioramas in Europe and/or North America.
