Yo-kai Watch 3: new update available (Ver. 1.2), adds Android Yamada + TV Commercials

Today, Level-5 released a brand new update for Yo-kai Watch 3, almost three weeks after the game’s launch (and the release of the previous update). This one brings the game to Ver. 1.2, and doesn’t add anything really significant content or feature-wise. It does fix some minor issues with the game, but that’s pretty much it.

That being said, that update also adds something a bit more exciting than just bug fixes… a new Yo-kai! And it’s not just any Yo-kai… it’s Android Yamada, the only member of the Hagura tribe so far (a new tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3).

After downloading the update, Android Yamada will appear randomly in the America and Japon parts of the game, but you need to progress up to Chapter 3 in both parts to be able to meet him.

Also, downloading this new update will net you a 5-start Coin, which makes it much easier for you to get rare S-Rank Yo-kai from the Gacha Machine. If you haven’t downloaded Ver. 1.1 yet (because you just bought the game for example), you will get two 5-start coins instead!

To download this new update, you have several options:

  • launch the game while being connected to the internet: you should get a prompt when doing so. Follow the instructions on screen;
  • search for Yo-kai Watch 3 on the Nintendo eShop;
  • use the Software update option in the Nintendo eShop settings.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply launch the game: you should see Ver. 1.2 in the bottom right corner of the top screen.
