Xenoblade Chronicles X: data packs downloadable from Monday in Europe, trailer

Xenoblade Chronicles XXenoblade Chronicles X is a massive game, with a vast open world to explore at will. The best thing: everything loads seemlessly, and you’re not bothered by a loading screen every five steps. If you’re planning to pick up the digital version of the game, you will get the best performances possible. But if you’re planning to get the disc version, you don’t have anything to worry about either.

Indeed, several data packs can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop: they will significantly reduce loading times when playing off the disc version of Xenoblade Chronicles. Here’s the list of packs (listed in priority order):

  • Basic pack (2GB)
  • Enemy pack (2.7GB)
  • Player pack (3.6GB)
  • Skell pack (1.7 GB)

Those data packs can already be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop in North America, so you will be able to be optimal performances right off the gate. But if you live in Europe, you’re going to have to wait a little bit before being able to download the data packs. A customer support representative from Nintendo UK confirmed that they would be available from Monday in Europe!

A reminder to players planning to get the digital version of the game: you do not need those data packs! Unfortunately, we don’t know if/when digital pre-order and preloading (for the full game) will be available in Europe.

Finally, here’s a new “trailer” for Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is actually an extended-cut of yesterday’s web commercial:
