The official Artbooks for Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X were filled to the brim with illustrations, concept-art, and various pictures and design documents. They also included some never-before-seen material, which is one of the reasons they have been really popular with fans of the series. And good news for those very fans: the official Artbook for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was announced today!

The official Artbook for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is called Xenoblade 2 Official Artworks: Alrest Record, and it will be released on February 2nd in Japan. It will cover not just the main game, but also the Torna~The Golden Country story expansion.

This Artbook features illustrations of the main characters, but also final artworks, design documents and concept-art, setting pictures, illustrations of the Rare Blades (that were designed by many different illustrations, who did share a few comments about their creations), and more.

But that’s not all: fans will also find illustrations of the Titans, the world, weapons, items, monsters, and more. And quite interestingly, this Artbook isn’t all about pictures: there’s also some text content with an overview of the story, as well as every single line of battle dialogue and all Heart to Hearts. That way, if you missed a specific Heart to Heart, or couldn’t always hear what the characters were talking about during and right after battles, you will be able to read it in this Artbook!

To the surprise of no one, it’s Saito Masatsugu (the main character designer) who drew the illustration for the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Artbook, which is brand new. CHOCO (who designed a couple of Rare Blades in the main game) also went and created 4 special illustrations exclusively for the artbook!

Here’s what the cover looks like:

Finally, here’s some additional details about the artbook:

  • Title: Xenoblade 2 Official Artworks: Alrest Record
  • Release date: February 2nd
  • Size: A4
  • Pages: 352
  • Price: 2 900 Yen + taxes

If you’re interested, the artbook can be pre-ordered on Amazon! Unfortunately, we don’t know if there will be an English release of that artbook later down the line…
