Today, we get some details about Echoes.

Using her handy Tri Rod, Princess Zelda can make copies of various objects found all over Hyrule, such as tables and beds. Once copied, those can be recreated anytime, anywhere, which is bound to prove useful. For example, you can stack tables in order to make yourself an impromptu staircase and get over that pesky cliff that stands in your way.

And that’s not all: you can also build a bridge made of beds, stack water blocks and swim upwards, lure monsters with slabs of meat, and more. There’s so many ways for you to use Echoes, and each one can be used in multiple ways.

Also, it’s not just objects that can be turned into Echoes: monsters can too! And yes, they will fight on behalf of Princess Zelda when recreated. But copying monsters is bound to prove useful even outside battle: for example, you can glide in the air with the help of flying creatures, and the take advantage of the web of spider monsters to get around.

There’s quite a lot of Echoes to be found in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and you’re free to choose when, where, and how to use them in order to solve puzzles and deal with enemies standing on your way. Depending on the Echoes you choose, a variety of strategies will arise.

First, here’s some details about the story.

One day, mysterious rifts start appearing all across the vast land of Hyrule, swallowing people and objects alike and spiriting them away. While fighting Ganon, Link is swallowed up by one such rift and goes missing. Princess Zelda somehow manages to escape, and with Link out of the picture, it’s up to her to save the day.

She goes on a journey across Hyrule in order to save its people (and Link, of course!) in company of Tri, a mysterious fairy. Like in past games, Hyrule is beautiful land teeming with nature, and is home to a wide variety of people. Unfortunately, rifts are appearing in various places across the kingdom, causing all sort of trouble.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (Switch) comes out on September 26th worldwide.
