The Legend of Legacy: gameplay adjustements detailed, trailer and unboxing

The Legend of LegacyGameplay adjustements

Back when Atlus USA confirmed the localisation for The Legend of Legacy, the company mentioned some gameplay adjustements (made for the Western version of the game):

Atlus made several gameplay adjustements for the western version of the game, based on user feedback following the Japanese release. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit before we find out what was changed exactly.

And yesterday, Atlus finally detailed those gameplay adjustements, which mainly impact New Game +:

  • all money and formations now carry over to New Game +
  • special weapons created will be available in the shop in New Game +
  • drop rate increased for items and materials. Drop rate for rares items goes up in subsequent New Game +
  • the ship now takes less time to return (it still uses real-world time).

Since you need to beat the games several times in order to get each character’s ending (which isn’t mandatory), it’s definitely a good thing that those changes were made to New Game +. Also, Atlus mentions that nothing else was changed: difficulty, stats, etc. are still the same as in the Japanese version of the game.

Trailer, Launch Edition unboxing and livestream

Next, we have the latest trailer for the game:

Head after the break for more The Legend of Legacy news!

Revealed a few months ago, the Launch Edition for The Legend of Legacy will include:

– the game
– a soundtrack CD, with 10 tracks composed by the one and only Masashi Hamauzu (known for his work on the SaGa series, but also Final Fantasy XIII)
– a “Premium” artbook (hardcover), with 40 pages of artworks, sketches, background art, and even some comments from Tomomi Kobayashi (chara-designer).

Yesterday evening, Atlus uploaded an unboxing video for this Launch Edition:

And if you want to see more of the game before (eventually) buying it next week, Atlus USA will host another livestream this evening, on Twitch.

The Legend of Legacy (3DS) comes out on October 13th in North America, and in Early 2016 in Europe.
