Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! officially announced, out on November 2nd in the west

Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! is the latest entry in the Taiko no Tatsujin series, and it was released last week in Japan (where it had one of the best debut in a long while). Earlier this year, we starting getting signs that this entry was headed to European and North America. The biggest one is obviously the Australian Classification Board, that rated a certain Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! a few weeks ago…

And today, Bandai-Namco finally confirmed the “rumours”: Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version is indeed coming to Europe and North America, where it will be known as Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun!. It will be released on November 2nd. It will be the first time since the PlayStation 2 that the series makes it to North America, and the first time ever it reaches the European shores.

Bandai-Namco mentions a “wide variety of new songs”, but doesn’t really say much else on the matter: it’s not clear if the tracklist is exactly the same as in the Japanese version, or if they went with a more “western” line-up (in part due to possible licencing issues for Japanese songs).

The Nintendo Switch version offers motion controls, allowing players to use the Joy-Con as actual drumsticks for an experience as close to the arcade one as possible. There’s also 20 rhythm-based mini-games to play with up to 4 players. Finally, let’s not forget the Kirby and Squid (Splatoon 2) cameos in the Rhythm Games Mode, and the various Nintendo songs.

The press release mentions that the game can be played with 1 or 2 players in Rhythm Mode, and 1 to 4 players in Party Game or Party Mode. Voices were left in Japanese, but with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish voices.

Here’s a teaser trailer, the boxart, and some more details:
