Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2: details on Nintendo Switch version, release dates

Today, Capcom shared some more details about the Nintendo Switch versions of Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2, which are releasing at the end of November worldwide: November 28th in Europe and North America (announced yesterday), and November 30th in Japan (announced via Famitsu on Tuesday).

What to expect for those two games on Nintendo Switch? For starters, all DLC for both games will be included and available for free. Also, Capcom actually added Joy-Con support to the games, allowing players to:

  • target enemies using motion controls;
  • use the knife (and other similar weapons) by shaking the Joy-Con;
  • reloading weapons using motion controls, as if you were reloading an actual gun;
  • really feel the action thanks to HD Rumble.

The Raid Mode in Resident Evil Revelations is also getting a new high-difficulty stage, called THE GHOST SHIP HELL (yes, in full caps). Talk about ominous!

Next, here’s all the DLC included with Revelations 2:

  • the game itself (all 4 episodes)
  • Extra Episode 1
  • Extra Episode 2
  • Stage pack for Raid Mode
  • Extra character for Raid Mode (Hunk)
  • Extra character for Raid Mode (Wesker)
  • Extra costumes pack
  • more…

Finally, details about the various versions of Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 in Japan:

Resident Evil Revelations Collection

  • Resident Evil Revelations (on cartridge)
  • Resident Evil Revelations 2 (download code, to be used before November 30th 2019)
  • Price: 4 990 Yen + taxes

Resident Evil Revelations

  • Price: 2 990 Yen + taxes (retail)
  • Price: 2 769 Yen + taxes (digital)
  • File size (digital): 13GB

Resident Evil Revelations 2

  • Price: 2 769 Yen + taxes (digital, no retail version)
  • File size: 26GB

In North America (and Europe?), Capcom is also going to release the Collection, but there’s no stand-alone release for the first game. Also, given the file size of both games, it’s no wonder Capcom is only offering the second one via the Nintendo eShop… both games would require 39GB of space, and it’s not even clear if there are Nintendo Switch cartridges that big yet (if yes, their price is bound to be prohibitive).

Finally, here’s pictures for both games:

And here’s the North American boxart:

Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 + Collection (Switch) will be released on November 28th in Europe and North America, and November 30th in Japan. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
