Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology – Latest trailer details the battle system

A few days ago, Atlus announced that Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology would be released on February 13th in North America, with Europe getting it 3 days later, on February 16th. And today, the company revealed the latest trailer for the game, which happens to be about the battle system.

This enhanced port of the Nintendo DS cult-classic keeps the same battle system that turned the original version into a cult-classic. It’s a turn-based battle system, on a grid, but with some nice twists.

In many RPG, you can hit multiples enemies with a single attack, but for that, you generally need a special attack. In Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, you can actually maneuver enemies on the grid, for strategic purposes. You can line them up nicely, so that a character can use a powerful attack to take them all out at the same time. Learning to use that particular aspect of the battle system is key to victory!

Also, using the Change command, you can shift your enemy or team’s attack order, in order to takle full advantage of capabilities. For example, you can place a character with a magic-enhancing ability first, so that the character(s) right after them can take advantage of it.

But that’s not all: this Nintendo 3DS version features some brand new Support Skills, such as Elemental Beads for example. Finally, there’s a Mana Burst abilities, that allow characters to get really personal with enemies, one on one, in order to finish them off in style with a devastating blow.

Here’s the latest trailer for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, detailing the battle system:
