Puzzle & Dragons X: first details from Famitsu magazine

Last week, we learned from CoroCoro magazine that GungHo was working on a new Puzzle & Dragons game for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s called Puzzle & Dragons X, and will be in the same vein as Puzzle & Dragons Z (which came out in December 2013, in Japan). The game is featured in Famitsu this week, which allows us to get the very first details about it.

First, we learn that the RPG elements found in Puzzle & Dragons Z will be enhanced, and the game will look more and more like a proper JRPG (but with the Puzzle & Dragons battles, of course). Gameplay itself will be improved, and the developers promise even more content than in Puzzle & Dragons Z. Talking of content, Puzzle & Dragons X will have over 500 monsters, who can evolve (just like in the smartphone game and the original).

We also learn about a gameplay mechanic involving the protagonist: apparently, he can wear special armors, imbued with the power of monsters. This allows him to use skills in battle.

The scan below (from CoroCoro magazine) shows one of the armors:
