Genei Ibun Roku #FE: more details about the Mirage

Genei Ibun Roku #FELast week, Genei Ibun Roku #FE was showcased in the Japanese Nintendo Direct, with some new gameplay footage. Thanks to the good folks at Serenes Forest, who analysed the footage, we now have more details about the game, and more precisely the Mirages. We learn that characters can learn new skills as they battle with their Mirage.

Aparently, many of them are from the Shin Megami Tensei series (such as Sukunda and Bufula), but some are also from Fire Emblem (such as Flux +1). The video shows Kiria getting a skill from Tharja (Tarunda), and about to get another one called Agilao (as shown by a bar filling up).

During the game, you can go see Tiki in order to undergod Carnage Unity or Radiant Unity (but also get some details about those two gameplay systems). Using the materials gathered through battles, you can create weapons called “Carnages” via Carnage Unity, for your Mirage to equip.

Quite naturally, every Carnage has weaknesses and strengths, attack stats and skills. Apparently, Chrom starts with the Sealed Falchion Carnage (a reference to Fire Emblem Awakening), but he can also equip the Iron Sword Carnage. In order to upgrade to the Epée Rapier Carnage, you need to use 1 Blade Force, 1 Deep Sea Illumination and 2 1-Star Stardoms.

The video confirms that Mirage can switch class, just like characters in the Fire Emblem series. Caeda (Tsubasa Oribe’s Mirage) can switch from Pegasus Knight to Falcon Knight or Drakoknight, using to a Master Seal. And it looks like the classes retains their general properties from the Fire Emblem series:

  • Falcon Knight: more Speed and Resistance
  • Dracoknight: higher Defence and Skill

The Mirage Attacks also change for your character when their Mirage switches classes: for example, Tsubasa Oribe can use Aerial Dance when Caeda is a Pegasus Knight, and Grande Finale when a Falcon Knight.

Finally, we get the confirmation that Genei Ibun Roku #FE will have an achievements system. Some of the actions triggering one include changing to a Falcon Knight or taking down several enemies at once.

Finally, here’s the boxarts for the various editions of Genei Ibun Roku #FE:

Genei Ibun Roku #FE (Wii U) comes out on December 26th in Japan and next year in Europe and North America.
