Pokémon news (June 28) – Pokémon Shuffle: new content and features

Today, a new update for Pokémon Shuffle went live, and this time around, we also get new features besides the new content.

Let’s start with those features. Starting today, the following Pokémon can have their Max Level increased thanks to the Raise Max Level item: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Celebi, Rotom, Pikachu, Jolteon, Leafeon, Chespin, Quilladin, Tangela, Dedenne, Pachirisu, Phanpy, Donphan, Cubone, Marowak, Cofagrigus, Sigilyph, Farfetch’d, Reuniclus, and Zoroark.

If you want to try it, you’re in luck: two Raise Max Level items are being distributed to all players!

Next, we have the Skill Swapper: an item that does exactly what it says on the tin. It allows you to change the skill of a Pokémon, but in doing so, said skill go back to Level 1. You can use it on the following Pokémon: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, Regirock, Celebi, Mew, Rotom, Gengar, Sableye, Ampharos, Eevee, Jolteon, Leafeon, Chespin, Tangela, Tangrowth, Phanpy, Donphan, Cubone, Fafetch’d, Pachirisu, Druddigon, Dedenne, Zoroark, and Chandelure.

New Mission Cards have also been added to the game.

As for the new content, we have:

  • a special stage featuring Hitmonlee, available until July 12th;
  • the Daily Pokémon (#1) stages featuring Rotom are also available until July 12th;
  • a special stage featuring Raikou, available until July 5th;
  • a new challenge featuring Gyarados is available until July 5th. As usual, the reward you get depends on your overall rank:
  1. Top 700 players in Europe, Top 3,000 players in Japan = Gyaradosite + Mega Speedup + Raise Max Level
  2. Top 2,500 players in Europe, Top 10,000 players in Japan = Gyaradosite + Mega Speedup
  3. Top 13,000 players in Europe, Top 50,000 players in Japan = Gyaradosite
  4. Top 18,000 players in Europe, Top 70,000 players in Japan = Attack Power + Disruption Delay
  5. Not ranked: Attack Power

Battle competition

Yesterday, the latest battle competition for Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire was announced: the Sinnoh Classic. Here’s the rules:

  • Battles: Double Battle;
  • Rules: current VGC rules;
  • Pokémon allowed: Pokémon in the National Pokédex (from 001-493);
  • Pokémon banned: Dragonite, Mewtwo, Mew, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Giratina, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus;
  • Items banned: Mega Stones;
  • Registration: from July 14th to July 21st;
  • Battles: from July 22nd to July 24th;
  • Prize: Garchomp (Level 66), based on Cynthia’s Garchomp. It knows the following moves: Dragon Rush, Brick Break, Giga Impact, Earthquake.
