Pokémon Shuffle

Today, some new content for Pokémon Shuffle went live:

  • a special stage featuring Hoopa Confined, available until July 26th. You need to pay 400 coins to play it;
  • the special stage featuring Regigigas is back until July 26th;
  • the special stage featuring Azelf is also back until July 26th;
  • a new Pokémon Safari featuring Electrike, Manectric, Darumaka, Darmanitan, Stantler, Winking Pikachu, and Winking Raichu. It will be available until July 26th.

Pokémon The Movie

Pokémon The Movie comes out on Saturday in Japan, and on Thursday, there will be a special “episode” of the Pokémon XY & Z on Thursday. It will last 2 hours with:

  • first TV broadcast of last year’s movie (Pokémon The Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages + the movie short)
  • special program about the latest movie (Pokémon The Movie: Volcanion and the Ingenious Magearna)

Pokémon GO

Yesterday, several new interviews about Pokémon GO went live. Here’s two of them, for those of you who are interested in learning more how the latest Poké-phenomenom was born:

  • Marshable: details how Poké-stops and Gyms locations were picked up, which Pokémon appear where, what the developers did and are doing to keep players safe, upcoming features and AR.
  • GameInformer: background of John Hanke (Niantic’s CEO), how the whole project came about, the involvement of Junchi Masuda and Shigeru Miyamoto, success so far, how Poké-stops and Gyms were picked up, the lack of tutorial, why so many churches were picked up as Poké-stops, what if places/business request Pokéstops to be removed, what’s coming in the future, bi-weekly updates, tips, and more.

Pokémon Comaster

Today, a new update for Pokémon Comaster went live. It brings the game to Ver. 1.2, and adds the follwoing:

  • new items: Rare Metal (C, UC, R, EX, with EX giving you 10 500 XP), Ingot (C, R, EX, with EX giving you 35 000 coins)
  • Daily Missions: the rewards you get for completing are chosen via a roulette. You can get the following: Diamonds, Ingot, Rare Metals, Trevo Tickets, and more.
  • New event: Haunted Cup.
  • New figures: Empoleon (EX), Cyndaquil (UC), Tentacruel (R), Giratina (EX), and Haunter (UC)
  • New features: Power Saving Mode, ability to clear the data cache.

Special Battle Season 17

Today, The Pokémon Company revealed the rules for the Special Battle Season 17 in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire:

  • Date: July 19th to September
  • Type: Rapid Seasons (10s to select a move, 30s to select a Pokémon, 5mn matches)
  • Items banned: Mega Stones, Focus Sash, Soul Dew. Two Pokémon cannot be holding the same hold item
  • Battles: Single, 3 Pokémon sent to battle
  • Pokémon allowed: National Pokédex
  • Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, or Volcanion. Also, Pokémon transfered from a previous version via Poké Transporter are banned
  • Level: 50

Pokémon Red Version / Blue Version / Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition

Earlier today, Nintendo announced that Pokémon Red Version / Blue Version / Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console would be on sale from July 14th to July 28th in Europe. Each version will cost €6.99 / £6.29 (separately), instead of €9.99 / £8.99.

If you’re yet to play those, now is the good time to get them: it’s not often that Virtual Console games are discounted after all. Also, don’t forget that Pokémon Bank will be updated later this year, to allow transfers from Pokémon Red Version / Blue Version / Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition to Pokémon Sun and Moon!
