Pokémon GO – Adventure Sync

Pokémon GO – iOS 9 support

Niantic has an important announcement for users with iOS devices: after December 12th, Pokémon GO will no longer support iOS 9, and it will be impossible for a device running that version of the OS to run the game. If your device is still running iOS 9, you have several options if you want to keep playing:

  • update to iOS10 or more recent if your device can be upgraded;
  • get a new device running iOS 10 or more recent if it cannot.

If you’re on Android, there’s nothing to worry about: Android users are not affected by this change.

Niantic decided to drop support for iOS 9 because the vast majority of users have migrated to iOS 10 or more recent. As such, it doesn’t make much sense for them to continue supporting an iOS that few people are still using, especially when doing so allows you to streamline their development process and focus their ressources on more important things.

You can find more details over at the Pokémon GO Support website.

Pokémon GO – Field Research tasks

Yesterday, the latest set of Field Research tasks went live in Pokémon GO. One of them, “Catch 5 Bug-type Pokémon” allows you to get Nincada, which can evolve into Ninjask. Also, a new Spin form is now available in-game: Form #7!
