Nintendo Switch and Zelda: Breath of the Wild showcased at the Tonight Show

As announced a few days ago, Reggie Fils-Aimé was one of the guests at the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday evening. Many fans speculated that this would be about Super Mario Run, and they were right… but only partly right. Indeed, Reggie also gave us a live demonstration of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, played on an actual Nintendo Switch console!

Right after the Nintendo Switch presentation, back in October, Nintendo made it pretty clear that nothing more would be announced or shown about the console until next year. But it looks this was a bit of a lie, as we did get to see the actual thing in action ahead of the January 12th/13th presentation.

If you missed yesterday’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, no need to worry: the Nintendo segment has been uploaded on YouTube (click here for Shigeru Miyamoto’s live performance!).

There’s actually two parts:

  • the first one is about Super Mario Run
  • the second one is about the Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We don’t get to see anything really new, but it’s certainly nice to see the game running on the actual console!

Here’s the recorded Nintendo segment:

The Nintendo Switch will be launched in March, worldwide.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U, Switch) will be released in 2017, worldwide.
