Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Switch) comes out on September 18th worldwide.

Super Mario Bros.

In order to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game (first released on the NES on September 13th 1985 in Japan), Nintendo have finally launched the official websites for both Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 (aka. The Lost Levels) in Japan:

Both websites contain various bits of information about the games, along with various illustrations taken from the official manuals (that you can download as PDF from the websites).

Now, you’re probably wondering why Nintendo are launching official websites for such old games, and that’s because they were released way before the internet was even a thing for most people (Nintendo did not even have a website). Creating from scratch websites for NES games decades after their release is certainly an interesting way to celebrate the anniversary of one of the most iconic and influential games of all times!

Super Mario Quiz

As part of the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary celebrations, travelers from the Kanto region taking a JR East train can now enjoy a brand new Super Mario Bros. quizz via the onboard monitors (usually used to display ads and the likes).

Here’s a video showing one of the questions:

Nintendo have announced that a new question will be revealed every Monday. Unfortunately, all the questions will be in Japanese!

Pokémon anime series

TV Tokyo have announced that the latest Pokémon anime series is getting another timeslot change in October. Starting on October 9th, the series will air every Friday at 6.55PM. A much more favourable timeslot than the current one, which is Sunday at 6PM (at the same time as Chibi Maruko-chan, one of the most popular and longest running anime series of all times in Japan).

It’s the second timeslot change ever for the Pokémon anime series, with the previous one in October 2018 (which is when it moved to the current timeslot).

Here’s a promo video and a poster for the new timeslot:

And here’s the preview for the next episode of the anime series, which airs on Sunday (September 20th) in Japan:
