Shinya Takahashi
Shinya Takahashi may not be one of the most famous persons at Nintendo, but right now, it’s definitely one of the most powerful and influential. After all, he’s all of this, at once: Director, Board member, Managing Executive Officer, and General Manager of the Nintendo Entertainment Planning and Development division.
For those who want to learn more about the man, there’s the interview that TIME published earlier today (which also includes a few quotes from Reggie Fils-Aimé).
It covers various topics, starting with his debut during the Nintendo 64 era, his role in the development of Pokémon Stadium, his shift from Nintendo EAD to Nintendo SPD, the various people that appeared during the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 in January, the Nintendo Switch itself, and a lot more.
Here’s a pretty telling quote (the one from Reggie Fils-Aimé):
If all of Nintendo’s content creators were to be seen as a symphony, then Mr. Takahashi is our conductor. What I mean by that is, it’s his decision to bring the different players in our orchestra onto a particular game or a particular initiative. He’s the ultimate decision maker in what gets played by the symphony or what gets created by Nintendo as a company.
He’s been creating this big show, but because you only see his back, you really don’t know him all that well. But he drives the orchestra and he sets the pace and the bar for the performance.

Fire Emblem Heroes
To celebrate the release of Super Mario Run, back in December, Nintendo uploaded a video of Shigeru Miyamoto drawing a special illustration on an iPad Pro. And it turns out that Fire Emblem Heroes also got a similar video, this time with Kozaki Yuusuke drawing Sharena (one of the new characters created specifically for this game):
