Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy confirmed for western release

Earlier today, during the Level-5 Vision 2016 conference, Level-5 unveiled the latest entry in the Layton series (over 15.5 million units sold worldwide). Called Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy, the game will be released next Spring in Japan. And following the conference, Level-5 sent a press release to announce that the game would see a western release in 2017.

The press release also provides additional details about the game, which stars Katrielle Layton (Kat), Professor Layton’s daughter. While it’s much closer to the previous adventure games on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will put the focus on “solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners” (and less pure puzzle solving).

As a result, the tempo of the game is said to be faster, and the tone more comical (which was already quite apparent in the first trailer, revealed at the Level-5 Vision 2016 Event). Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy will also feature a brand new cast of characters, who seem to be in the same vein as those in previous entries.

Finally, Level-5 mentions that the creator of the puzzle is also new: it’s one Kuniaki Iwanami who is in charge of them.

Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy (3DS) comes out in Spring 2017 in Japan, and 2017 in Europe and North America. Given the usual delays in localisation, we can probably expect this new entry sometime in Late 2017 in the west. Our Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
