Kirby Star Allies: Dream Friends and free updates announced

Kirby Star Allies comes out next week, and so it’s no big surprise that it was showcased during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation. And if you thought there was nothing new to be revealed, you were wrong! There’s still an aspect of the game we didn’t know about: the Dream Friends.

Throughout the game, Kirby can befriend many enemies, and them become his allies. But there’s also some really special allies to be found in places known as “Dream Palaces”: legacy characters such as King Dedede, Meta Knight, or Bandana Waddle Dee (even though the first two appear as bosses in the game).

What’s more, the developers are also planning to add even more Dream Friends after launch, via free Software updates. In fact, the first one was announced during the Nintendo Direct! It will be released on March 28th, and it will add Marx, Gooey, and Rick + Kine + Coo. As usual, more details about the various Software updates for Kirby Star Allies will be added to the Updates page as soon as they’re available.

And don’t forget: if you want to get an early taste of what the game has to offer, make sure to download the free demo from the Nintendo eShop!

Finally, here’s the segment from the Nintendo Direct, and some screenshots + artworks:
