Japan: updates available for Monster Hunter X (Ver. 1.1.0) / Yo-kai Watch Busters (Ver. 2.2)

Monster Hunter X

Yesterday, Capcom released a Software update for Monster Hunter X, bringing the game to Ver. 1.1.0. It doesn’t add any new features, but it fixes some issues with the game, including some impacting wireless. It’s required to get downloadable content, but also to play online (local multiplayer will work even without the update).

This update requires 156 blocks of free space on your SD card (roughly 19.5MB). To download it, you have several options:

• launch Monster Hunter X from the Home Menu, while being connected to the internet;
• search for Monster Hunter X on the Nintendo eShop;
• use the option on the Nintendo eShop settings page.

After you’ve applied the update, launch the game: you should see “Ver. 1.1.0” in the top right corner of the screen. You will then be able to get a “Hunter Recovery Pack” by connecting to the internet.

Yo-kai Watch Busters

Less than a week since the previous one, Level-5 released anoter update for Yo-kai Watch Busters (Getto-gumi). It brings the game to Ver. 2.2, and obviously doesn’t add any features. However, it does fix an issue regarding save data: it makes them “safer” (less prone to corruption), as it basically blocks an exploit.

This exploit allowed players to cheat and increase the growth rate of their Yo-kai (all you had to do was pulling out the cartridge from the Nintendo 3DS when trading a Yo-kai with another player). Not only that “trick” was a cheat, it could also corrupt your save data. With this update, the exploit was removed, which should deter players from using a “trick” that could very well make them lose their save data.

To download this Ver. 2.2 update, you have several options:

• launch Yo-kai Watch Busters Aka Neko-dan / Shiro Inu-tai from the Home Menu, while being connected to the internet;
• search for Yo-kai Watch Busters Aka Neko-dan / Shiro Inu-tai on the Nintendo eShop;
• use the option on the Nintendo eShop settings page.

After you’ve applied the update, launch the game: you should see “Ver. 2.2” in the bottom right corner of the top screen:
