[Japan] Fire Emblem Echoes: pre-orders for the Valentia Complete edition start tomorrow

Last month, Nintendo announced a new Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo 3DS, called Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. In Japan, the game is getting several editions: regular, Limited Edition, and Valentia Complete (+ a game-less SKU, with just the bonuses).

The first two will be available in stores, but the Valentia Complete edition (and its game-less SKU) is a My Nintendo Store exclusive. Unfortunately, the launch of that store was quite rocky, and Nintendo had to delay pre-orders.

But today, Nintendo finally announced that pre-orders for the Valentia Complete edition would begin tomorrow (on February 10th), and will remain open until February 16th. During that period, anyone pre-ordering is guaranteed to get it, but there’s a little catch.

Indeed, if the number of pre-orders is higher than the stock allocated by Nintendo, then some users may not be able to get the game at launch (though they will get the Valentia Complete edition no matter what). Players will get an estimated delivery date when they pre-order the edition on the My Nintendo Store. Naturally, Nintendo is going with a first-come first-served system to determe shippinh order.

Here’s the contents of that Valentia Complete edition:

  • a physical copy of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
  • Fire Emblem 0 card featuring Alm (also offered as an early purchase bonus for the regular edition)
  • Fire Emblem 0 card featuring Celica, which happens to be holographic
  • download code for some DLC content that will make it easier for you to progress through the beginning of the game. DLC will also be sold separately for players who are not buying the Limited Edition. Naturally, the various bits of DLC will only be unlocked once they’ve been released, even if you have a download code;
  • SOUND SELECTION ECHOES: a soundtrack CD with tracks from the original game (Fire Emblem Gaiden) and this re-imagining;
  • VALENTIA ARTBOOK: an artbook featuring concept-art, character illustrations, and more;
  • Fire Emblem HD Movie Collection: a collection of animated cutscenes from various Fire Emblem games, from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn to Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia, including Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates… all in HD, on a Blu-Ray disc.

Also, Nintendo mentions that players will be able to order the custom Nintendo Switch pack (that allows them to freely chose the colours of the Joy-Cons) starting March 3rd, though it doesn’t look like there will be any more units for pre-orders.

NB: don’t forget that the My Nintendo Store only ships to addresses located in Japan.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (3DS) comes out on April 20th in Japan, and May 19th in Europe and North America.
