Earlier today, Hyrule Warriors was showcased during a Famitsu livestream, on NicoNico. It started with some footage from Hyrule Warriors Legends, on Nintendo 3DS, but then it switched to Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. Of course, this was done to showcase the new characters from Hyrule Warriors Legends, which can be “transferred” to Hyrule Warriors on Wii U.

As mentioned previously, only the new characters and weapons can be “transferred” to Hyrule Warriors on Wii U. Unfortunately, the new story content, and the new gameplay systems (such as character switching), remain exclusive to Hyrule Warriors Legends. We don’t know if Nintendo / Koei-Tecmo plan to release it as DLC down the line.

Hyrule Warriors Legends (3DS) comes out tomorrow in Japan, and March 25th in Europe and North America.
