Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: details and trailer for the Grimoire Stones, livestream recording

Introduced in Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girls, the Grimoire Stones are back in Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight. They work the same way: they’re equippable items that bestow the user with new skills (including weapon skills), even those from enemies. For example, a tank character could equip one in order to get a multi-target attack, or a Troubadour could do so in order to use a whip.

But this time around, they have been completely overhauled. If you go see Regina at the Café, she can help equip, trade and recycle Grimoire Stones:

– trading: you simply talk to one of the adventurers in the Café, and ask them for a trade. But in order for the deal to go through, your offer needs to be of equal value. This is the reason why you shouldn’t throw away your low level Grimoires Stones, as you can add them to the deal;
– recycling: you give some Grimoires Stones to Regina, you go spend some time in the labyrinths, and tada!, you end up with a brand new Grimoire Stone. What’s more, you can see the level of the Grimoire Stone you’ll end up with, and you can keep on adding more of them in order to get a better one after recycling.
