When Ski Lifts Go Wrong

Yesterday, Curve Digital announced yet another game for the Nintendo Switch: When Ski Lifts Go Wrong, a low-poly physics puzzler developed by Hugecalf Studios. It will be released next year in Europe and North America.

But the thing is… this isn’t really a new game announcement: When Ski Lifts Go Wrong was previously announced as Carried Away! Curve Digital simply decided to go with a different name for the full release (it’s available in Early Access on Steam). The Nintendo Switch version will feature more stages, new vehicles, as well as all the Early Access improvements: complete UI overhaul, more control over the riders, and more blood (with even more new features planned for the final release).

Here’s a trailer and more details, along with some screenshots:

When Ski Lifts Go Wrong mixes construction with destruction, sending hapless skiers, boarders and snowmobiles across perilous courses, and sometimes to their deaths. It challenges players to build ski lifts to transport eager skiers from one side of the mountain to the other, then wince as the results of their haphazard constructions are revealed in a full 3D simulation where skiers tumble out of chairs and land face first in the snow.

Realistic physics means realistic disasters. This is a game about enjoying each failure, as madcap physics and bloody mishaps make every run feel fresh. You must construct ski-themed courses – rigging chair lifts, gondolas, and ramps – and use direct control to get your skiers and snowmobile drivers to the finish line without them tumbling down a ravine. Or depending on how you feel, purposely send them tumbling down a ravine.

Body of Evidence

Yesterday, Fat Dog Games announced that their next game for the Nintendo Switch will be Body of Evidence, developed by Empyrean. In this game, you get to play a professional clearn, who has to get rid not of dirt, but… bodies, from crime scenes. It will be released in Q1 2019 in Europe and North America, and will cost $19.99.

Here’s some details, along with some screenshots:

Step into the booty covered shoes of a dead body disposal expert. Answer the call of local business owners, friends, and criminals who have messes that require your unique skills. Scrub, mop, and bag up the evidence in every scene until it appears as if nothing unpleasant ever happened there. Earn cash with every job and purchase new supplies to tackle new and more complex scenarios.

This job requires an attention to detail and the ability to work quickly because you are on the clock and need to return the scene to normal before anyone else discovers it. Be sure to check every closet and under every pillow, you never know what could be hiding.

A successful clean up will net you a cash reward but leave too many clues and … well, you don’t want to leave too many clues.Gruesome fun as you drag and hide the ragdolled bodies!

  • A strange collection of characters and scenarios
  • Wicked sense of humor and packed with pop culture references
  • Multiple ways to pass the levels
  • Restock your supplies at your local Warmart
  • Bloody scenes in low-poly graphics
