Dragon Quest VIII: latest batch of screenshots preview the post-game content
Last week, we learned from Jump magazine that the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King would feature a brand new ending, as well as an extra post-game dungeon. Today, Square-Enix revealed the latest bath of screenshots for the game, which preview this extra content.
At the end of the adventure, the party will find a mysterious door in the desert. The screenshots below also show a small town, which is completely void of people, leading the characters to wonder if an incident happened. While exploring, they will go up against a group of 4 monsters at the top of a strange straiway. For some reasons, those monsters can “merge” in order to become a rather formidable enemy.
Within the dungeon (unlocked after beating the game), the team ends up meeting a rather imposing dragon, styling himself “God King Dragon” (voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda). After this fight, a schoking truth about the protagonist will be revealed, which won’t leave him unphazed… far from it!
