Super Mario Maker: overview video now available in English

Today, Nintendo uploaded the English version of the Super Mario Maker overview video, which was uploaded a couple of days ago for Japan. Thanks to it, we have a nice summary of the main features of the game, but also some new tidbits and a confirmation that over 50 amiibo are compatible.

Mario MakerFirst, the trailer explains that the various elements for the level-editor are unlocked progressively (every day), and you don’t start with everything (in order not to overwhelm you). At one point, you will even unlock sound effects, that can be placed in the levels just like any other elements. Some of these sound effects even come with visual effects (such as fireworks).

What’s more, you can even record some sound effects using the microphone on the GamePad: that way, you will be able to record a short audio message to wish someone a Happy Birthday, for example! But that’s not all: if you want to make your levels even more festive, you can transform the note blocks into music blocks.

Finally, the trailer explains that the courses of the 100 Mario Challenge are picked up at random, from the internet. Therefore, you can get totally different levels everytime you try out this challenge.

Here’s the overview video for Super Mario Maker, now in English:

Super Mario Maker (Wii U) comes out on September 10th in Japan, and September 11th in Europe and North America.
