Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on Nintendo 3DS will have various enhancements compared the original version on PlayStation 2: full voice acting, orchestral music, faster battles (+ an option to speed them up), visible enemies in the field, and more. There’s also additional content, such as a brand new dungeon and boss.
But it looks like there’s still more: according to Jump magazine, Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will have a brand new ending on Nintendo 3DS. The magazine doesn’t say more about the ending (for obvious reasons), but does give a few hints/teases: “surprise developments,” “an angry King Clavius,” and “a sad protagonist.”
And that’s not all: once you’ve beat the game, your adventure will not be over… far from it! This Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will also feature a new post-game dungeon, called “The Ultimate Trial”. In there, you will able to find some mysterious “Purple Treasure Chests”.
Here’s the scan from Jump magazine:
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (3DS) comes out on August 27th in Japan.
