Dead Cells: Fatal Falls

Motion Twin have announced that the Fatal Falls DLC for Dead Cells: Fatal Falls will be released on January 26th worldwide. It will cost 4.99€ / $4.99.

Here’s a trailer and some details:

The Fatal Falls DLC introduces a significant amount of new content for fans including two new mid-game biomes, a killer new boss and a slew of new weapons and items. The gameplay reveal trailer released today showcases new biomes The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores as well as a cranky new boss – The Scarecrow, who existing fans may recognize as the Royal Gardener gone wrong with Malaise.

The two new biomes are parallels to the ‘Stilt Village’, ‘Clock Tower’ and ‘Time Keeper’ areas and are intended as alternate paths to spice up your mid-game runs. Along the new paths fans can expect to encounter a homicidal pet sword (why not?) and new slightly psychotic enemies like the Myopic Crow, the Clumsy Swordsman, the Compulsive Gravedigger and a lot more (eight total) culminating with the final boss, The Scarecrow (might want to keep an eye on those exploding mushrooms when you encounter him).

And what’s an update without new weapons? Fatal Falls’ new maniacal sword (did we mention it flies?) is designed to bring Brutality players a real counterpart to the Great Owl and Mushroom Boi. Scythes, undoubtedly one of the more iconic weapons in existence, have also been added – they are attracted to enemies and will follow you around a bit. Seven new weapons in total have arrived: Lightning Rods, Ferryman’s Lantern, Scarecrow’s Sickles, Iron Staff, Snake Fangs, Serenade and Cocoon. Each one will help you in different areas of the two new biomes. And because we want you to feel good AND look good, a total of 10 new outfits have also been added to the update.

Also, a new bundle has been announced: The Fatal Seed Bundle. It includes the base game (+ all free updates, obviously) and the two sets of paid DLC (The Bad Seed and Fatal Falls).

Finally, some sales will kick off around January 26th:

  • First-ever 50% off the base game ($12.49/12.49€)
  • 33% off Dead Cells: TheFatal Seed Bundle ($19.99/19.99€)
  • 30% off The Bad Seed DLC ($3.49/3.49€), first discount ever

Mundaun

MWM Interactive have announced a game for the Nintendo Switch: Mundaun, a folklore-inspired horror game developed by Hidden Fields. It will be released on March 16th in Europe and North America.

Here’s a trailer, a Behind the Scenes video, and some details for the game:

Mundaun is the first full-length game from Ziegler, and takes players on a journey of a young man who travels to a dark, secluded valley of the Alps to face off with a malevolent entity that resides there and uncovers the mystery of his grandfather’s death.

Mundaun is a survival horror game set on the darker side of the Alps, and follows a young man named Curdin who travels to the Swiss town of Mundaun to learn more about the mysterious circumstances behind his grandfather’s death, and soon discovers that something diabolical is haunting the town’s residents. Throughout their journey across Mundaun, players will solve intricate puzzles to uncover the town’s secrets, while avoiding sinister characters that trigger the game’s fear system, a “cause-and-effect” feature which disorients players when facing dangerous situations.

Solas 128

Armor Games Studios have announced that Solas 128 will be released on January 25th in Europe and North America.

Here’s the latest trailer and some more details:

Explore SOLAS 128, a game of interconnected puzzles where you redirect and reconfigure rhythmic pulses of light to breathe life back into an ancient machine.

At its heart, SOLAS is a beam deflection game. Rotate and reposition mirrors to connect light sources and unlock adjacent puzzles. Every pulse is moving to the beat at all times, and each puzzle is connected to the next. Explore this strange interconnected space, learn its rules, and discover the surprises that dwell within.

Rather than ordinary light beams, however, these pulses can and will collide with each other. Create new colours, deflect them in new directions, and pay attention to their timing to unlock the path to new puzzles.

Along the way you’ll encounter a wide array of components which interact in unique and surprising ways. You might even discover you can pass pulses and components between puzzles.

Prisms, glitches, new types of mirrors, and more lurk in the depths. For example, the filters which remove colours from pulses that pass over them.

To match the otherworldly, retro, neon aesthetic, SOLAS is scored with a one of a kind synthwave soundtrack to which the entire game is synchronized.

Solas 128 (Switch – eShop) comes out on January 25th in Europe and North America.

Ultimate Summer

Ultimate Games have shared some more details about Ultimate Summer, their latest game for the Nintendo Switch.

Here’s the details and the list of key features:

Asmodev’s new project combines elements of classic shooters and tower defense games. The gameplay focuses on single-player mayhem and allows the players to, among other things, gather resources, set traps and build towers. As the developers indicate, Ultimate Summer is a blend of well-known elements and mechanics, while at the same being the bloodiest tower defense game in history.

Ultimate Summer tells the not-so-subtle story of a retired butcher who heads to ZOO Island for a quiet vacation. Unfortunately, our unusual hero accidentally finds himself in conflict with the forces of Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, Cthulhu, Carnivores and Aliens.

  • a mix of a shooter and a tower defense game;
  • unforgettable story;
  • ability to harvest resources and souls;
  • Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, Cthulhu, Carnivores and Aliens;
  • 30 types of enemies and 14 bosses;
  • many weapons, even more traps and towers;
  • set in the Asmodev universe.

Ultimate Summer (Switch – eShop) does not have a release date yet.
