Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp – All the Events and Content updates (December 2017)
Since Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a smartphone game, with micro-transactions as business model, it’s going to get various events and content updates on a regular basis. Just like Fire Emblem Heroes (and to a lesser extent, Miitomo), the goal is to make sure players keep playing… and spending, obviously.

December 2nd
- [Log-in Bonus] A new Daily Log-in Bonus is now live, allowing players to get some goodies: Leaf Ticket x1, cotton x3, fertilizer x3, 1 000 Bells, cool essence x1, request ticket x1, preserves x3, honey x3, 1 000 Bells, and natural essence x1 (available until December 2nd)
December 5th
- [Animals] Today, some new animals were added to the game: Bluebear (unlockable item: Papa bear), Antonio (unlockable item: Mouth of Truth), Phoebe (unlockable item: gas pump), and Raddle (unlockable item: doctor’s desk). The complete list of animals in the game can be found on this page!
- [Events] For a limited time, your friendships will grow more quickly than usual when completing requests (available until December 11th)
December 6th
- [Goals] A new set of Timed Goals is now available: “Host the Most”. You have to host animals at your camp in order to get Leaf Tickets, Calling Cards, and Request Tickets (available until December 11th)
December 8th
- [Event] The first Retweet Rally for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is now live. There’s 20 Leaf Tickets to win. Check out this post for more details! (available until December 12th)
December 11th
- [Timed Goals] In preparation of the new Gardening feature, a new set of Timed Goals is now available: Friend Frenzy. You have to befriend people in order to get Leaf Tickets (available until December 21st)
December 12th
- [Log-in Bonus] A new set of Daily Log-in Bonuses is now live, allowing players to get the following: Leaf Ticket x1, paper x3, sea throw net x3, 1 000 Bells, sporty essence x1, request ticket x2, steel x3, river throw net x3, 1 000 Bells, and 1 cute essence.
December 13th
- [Log-in Bonus] Since the first Retweet Rally was successful, all players can now claim 50 Leaf Tickets as a Special Log-in Bonus. That’s more 30 more than initially announced, due to the number of Retweets (far) exceeding the initial goal (582 367, instead of 100 000, which was reached in a matter of hours… and even before anything was tweeted in Europe and North America) (available until January 13th)
December 15th
- [Log-in Bonus] To celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Super Mario Run, all players can get
Mario’s capbig bro’s hat as a Special Log-in Bonus (available until January 15th)
December 17th
- [Maintenance] Presumably in order to prepare for the big update announced a few days ago, there will be some maintenance on Sunday. During that time, it will be impossible to play Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. More details can be found over at our Upcoming Maintenance page!
December 17th
- [Update] The first major update for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is now available: Ver. 1.1.0. You can find some more details in this post, and the patch notes can be found in this post.
December 19th
- [Notice] Nintendo has posted a notice about various issues currently impacting the game. You can find more details about them on this page!
December 21st
- [Animals] No less than 7 new animals have been added to the game. Here’s who you can now host at your campsite, as well as their favourite furniture: Marshal (siphon), Mitzi (ceramic hot pot), June (water cooler), Drake (log bench), Vesta (spinning wheel), Goose (Rooster of Barcelos), Avery (storefront). Those animals have been added to this page!
- [Goals] A new set of Timed Goals is now available: “Host the Most”. All you have to do is host as many animal friends, in order to get various rewards. Also, while those Timed Goals are active, your friendship with animals will grow more quickly when completing requests! (available until December 27th)

- [Log-in Bonus] A new set of Daily Log-in Bonuses is now live, allowing players to get the following: Leaf Ticket x1, cotton x3, fertilizer x3, 1 000 Bells, cool essence x1, Leaf Ticket x1, wood x3, river throw net x3, 1 000 Bells, and 1 natural essence (available until January 1st)
December 23rd
- [Event] Today, Nintendo began teasing the New Year event for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. We don’t know when it will start exactly, but it will be after Christmas!
December 24th
- [Log-in Bonus] To celebrate Christmas, a special item is now available as a Log-in Bonus: red stuffed stocking (available until January 24th)
December 25th
- [Log-in Bonus] To apologise for the recent issues impacting players (check out this post for more details), Nintendo is offering 10 Leaf Tickets as Special Log-in Bonus (available until January 25th)
December 26th
- [Events] Starting today, the New Year event is live in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp! If you complete requests for animals, you may get countdown charms, which can then be used to craft special New Year-themed items (available until January 11th);
- [Craft] During the New Year event, you can use countdown charms to craft various pieces of furniture: zodiac dog (harmonious, 10 countdown charms + 100 Bells), basket of tangerines (natural, 10 countdown charms + 100 Bells), fancy kadomatsu (harmonious, 10 countdown charms + 100 Bells), fancy osechi (harmonious, 40 countdown charms + 300 Bells), flowery kotatsu (cute, 40 countdown charms + 300 Bells), fancy mochi pestle (harmonious, 40 countdown charms + 300 Bells), OK Motors kite (sporty, 80 countdown charms + 500 Bells), fancy kagamimochi (harmonious, 80 countdown charms + 500 Bells), Isabelle kite (sporty, 800 countdown charms + 800 Bells), kadomatsu screen (harmonious, 250 countdown charms + 800 Bells)
- [Events] During the New Year event, you can get countdown charms from the Shovelstrike Quarry. Make sure the countdown charm icon is displayed on the map right next to the quarry’s icon, because that’s only when it is that you can get them (available until January 11th);
- [Goals] A new set of Timed Goals is now available: “Event Challenge”. You can clear those goals to get countdown charms, materials, and special pieces of clothing (available until January 11th).
December 30th
- [Log-in Bonus] To celebrate New Year, all players can get the following items as Log-in Bonus: red New Year’s hat, New Year’s noodles (available until January 30th)
