Animal Crossing: New Leaf – amiibo Camera feature to be added next month
A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Leaf would get a major update this Fall. It will add compatibility with Animal Crossing amiibo (figures and cards), but also new content. During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, in September, Nintendo announced that it would be released in November.
There will be an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct in early november, where Nintendo will further detail the update. But the good news is: we won’t have to wait until that presentation to learn more about it! On Wednesday, Nintendo revealed a brand new feature called amiibo Camera.
It’s actually pretty straightforward: you use one of the Animal Crossing amiibo in order to “summon” them in the real world, and then you take pictures. The official website confirms that both Animal Crossing amiibo figures and Animal Crossing amiibo cards can be used, though obviously, it’s much more convenient to carry the cards around.
Here’s some pictures for the amiibo Camera feature:
The amiibo Camera feature is one of the features that will be added to Animal Crossing: New Leaf via the Software update slated for next month. It will be available from the get-go in Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, which is simply a pre-patched retail copy of the game.
Here’s the boxarts of that edition (Europe and Japan):
The update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be released in November worldwide.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo (3DS) comes out on November 23rd in Japan, November 25th in Europe, and December 2nd in North America.
