amiibo: Shovel Knight to get its own figure?

Over the past few days/weeks, there’s been various rumours regarding Shovel Knight, which might get an amiibo and/or be added to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / Nintendo 3DS (most likely as a costume). And today, it looks like at least one of these rumours is true: Shovel Knight may well get its own amiibo!

It all started with Yacht Club Games teasing a secret announcement for Shovel Knight, and more precisely for Nintendo fans who didn’t get exclusive content like what was added for the PlayStation and Xbox One versions of the game. The developers explained that it wouldn’t what people were expecting, and a Shovel Knight is certainly something nobody could have predicted.

Whatever Yacht Club Games surprises for Nintendo fans ends up being (amiibo, apparition in Smash, something else entirely), we should know in a few hours: it’s bound to be announced during the Nindies@Night event!
