7th Dragon III: trailer for character creation

Yesterday evening, SEGA uploaded a brand new trailer for 7th Dragon III code:VFD, which focuses on character creation. As mentioned several times in reports before the Japanese launch, the game allows you create and customise your characters (a bit like the Etrian Odyssey series).

You can have up to 9 characters in your party, which is a lot. Thankfully, there’s many possible options for you to chose from when it comes to creating your characters: 8 classes, 96 appearance variations, and 40 voice options. It’s not quite a character editor, but there’s still enough variation for you to create your very own characters.

Talking about the classes, you have to think carefully about which ones to pick. The dungeons are pretty treacherous, and you really need a balanced team to come out of them alive. After all, your team will need to defeat a wide range of enemies, so you have to make sure it can face any kind of situation.

Here’s the 8 classes you can chose from:

• Samurai – They fight using swords, blades, and other sharp weapons;
• Agent – They shoot and hack enemies;
• God Hand – They can heal allies, but also hit enemies with nasty hooks and uppercuts;
• Duelist – They use magical cards to summon supernatural beings;
• Rune Knight – They use magical short swords to deal devastating damage in enemy ranks;
• Fortuner – Their specialty? Debuff effects;
• Mage – They’re the only ones who can the full power of mana.
• Banisher – Smash. Smash. Smash and smash enemies away!

7th Dragon III code:VFD (3DS) comes out on July 12th in North America. Unfortunately, no European release has been announced so far.
