Xenoblade Chronicles 3D: overview video #2 (JP)

Earlier this morning, Nintendo uploaded a second overview video for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (coming out in roughly 2 weeks in both Japan and Europe). In this one, Nintendo showcases the various aspects of the game, and they start with the story and the various characters. Then they show some of the areas, which are actually the various body parts of a giant God.

During your explorations, you will find some landmarks: those allow you to get some experience points, but also to teleport to them when you want to fast travel. It’s also where you end up if you get KOed in battle (at the last one you visited). Of course, there’s also various secret areas to find in the overworld, and those also net you some XP! Another neat feature of the game: you can change the time of the day (which is crucial for certain quests, with monsters only appearing at a specific time).

The video also showcases the battles, with the Arts palette on the bottom of the top screen: this is where you select your attacks / skills. And thanks to the power of the Monado, you can get visions during battles: those show you when one of your characters is in danger, giving you a short window of time during which you can try and change the future.

Finally, the video shows the links between the various characters in the game: by completing quests, you can have an influence on those relationships. By improving the links between the characters in your party, they will become even more powerful during battle.

Here’s the second overview video for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (New 3DS) comes out on April 2nd in Japan and Europe, and on April 10th in North America.
