WarioWare Gold: JP website open, prologue movie revealed

WarioWare Gold (known in Japan as Made in Wario Gorgeous) comes out at the end of the month in Europe and early next month in Japan and North America, and today, Nintendo finally opened the official website for it in Japan. The site doesn’t reveal much about the game, but it does have some pretty interesting tidbits.

Let’s start with the prologue movie, which is fully voiced (since this is from the Japanese website, voices are in Japanese):

But it’s not just the prologue movie: the entire game is fully voiced this time around.

As far as micro-games, WarioWare Gold include over 300 of them: a record for the series! There’s several categories: Sports, Rescue, Fantasy, or even Nintendo. Just like in previous entries, you have to clear a series of micro-games in really quick succession, which makes for a pretty short but intense experience every time!

A key aspect of WarioWare Gold is that the micro-games make use of pretty much all the possible control options of the Nintendo 3DS:

  • buttons: direction pad and A button
  • gyroscope: turn your console around
  • touchscreen: touch the screen with the right timing
  • microphone: blow on it

Finally, here’s some of the characters appearing in the game:

  • Wario
  • Jimmy T.: a cool disco dancer that can often be found dancing at the Club Sugar, at night;
  • Ashley (and Red): a young witch who loves sweets and cute dresses;
  • 18-Volt: a rapper and a game lover (who is a big fan of Nintendo). He’s good friend with 9-Volt, another fan of video games:
  • Kat (and Ana): a cute ninja girl and her twin sister, Ana.

WarioWare Gold (3DS) comes out on July 27th in Europe, August 2nd in Japan, and August 3rd in North America.
