UK: video games sales for Week 6, 2016 (Feb. 7 – 13), data for 2015
Week 6, 2016
Week 6 wasn’t a really good week for Nintendo in the United Kingdom, as Nintendo platforms are nowhere to be seen in the Top 40. The best-seller on Nintendo 3DS is still LEGO Marvel Avengers, but it didn’t sell nearly enough to get in the Top 40. As for Mario Kart 8, it’s back as the best-selling game on Wii U, but just like LEGO Marvel Avengers, it didn’t sell enough to appear in the Top 40.

2015
Last week, UKIE (United Kingdom Interactive Entertainment) released its report for the video game market in the United Kingdom, in 2015. It reveals that the value of the UK games market is up 5% from 2014, and is now worth £4.19 billion. Many of the categories are up, with two notable exceptions:
- Console hardware went from £915 millions to £689 millions
- Boxed software (at retail) went from £935 millions to £904 millions
Most of the increase is due to the mobile section, but also to digital games on consoles and PC (which went from £1.082 billions to £1 224 billions).
