Tray Racers! – Ver. 1.3 (Old World Update)

  • Release date: October 31st 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)
  • Patch notes:
Additions
  • The new Buried Cities biome is filled with tall skyscrapers to fly between and weave through, with an overgrown variant adding lush vegetation to the remnants of the Old World.
  • There are 3 new tray designs in the style editor inspired by the Tray Design Contest winners. The campfire design by Zoid, sunburst design by Louise Kirby and rainbow splats by Howie Jamieson. Thank you for all the submissions!
  • Weekly Race ghosts can now be uploaded when setting a new best time, you can choose to race against your own ghost, the next ghost in the leaderboard or the top ghost.
  • There is a spooky new Ghost character option for those who own the Supporter’s Pack.
  • The host can now select which biomes are in the track from the Camp, either by interacting with the map or in the Race Options.
  • A new music track has been added to the game, so keep an ear out!

  • Multi-line Arabic text now displays correctly.

Tray Racers! – Ver. 1.2 (Toad Mode Update)

  • Release date: June 5th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)

Additions
  • Toad and Seek is a new game mode you can start by visiting the toad in the Camp.
  • The lush mangrove biome featured in the Toad Mode is now included in regular races.
  • There are new Toad themed style options included in the base game.
Major Fixes/Tweaks
  • New animation and model for hover flowers in Mangrove biome.
Minor Fixes/Tweaks
  • Mangrove trees can now intersect creating more dense roots to weave through.
  • Fix issue with sound effects playing when race first loads.
  • Fix issue with FOV being incorrect when teleported to podium sequence.

Tray Racers! – Ver. 1.1 (Volcano Update)

  • Release date: May 17th 2023 (North America, Europe) / May 18th 2023 (Japan)

  • chaotic new obstacles from tornadoes to lava rivers

Tray Racers! – Ver. 1.0c

  • Release date: April 26th 2023 (North America, Europe, Japan)

Additions
  • Add some tutorial tooltips to the loading screen.
Major Fixes/Tweaks
  • Change the countdown in the Camp lobby to start when the majority of players have readied up, rather than all players needing to ready up.
  • Optimise load times of Cave biome.
  • Fix issues that could cause an infinite load screen – joining a lobby just as it changes state or disconnecting from the internet during the load sequence.
  • Fix issue where grind rails would stop working if respawning just before hitting them.
  • When voting to end the race the “confirm” dialogue will now time out, rather than waiting for the Host’s input.
  • The “Waiting for Players” state now has a timeout so players don’t get stuck waiting at the start line for late joining players to load the race.
Minor Fixes/Tweaks
  • Fix issue that would cause boost particles to appear infinitely when respawning near the Camellos.
  • Player Nameplates now display correct capitalisation.
  • Fix issue where a lobby had an extremely rare chance of being stuck in the Camp.
Known Issues
  • The “Refresh” button in the Weekly Races does not properly attempt to reconnect you to the servers if connection is lost.

How to download updates for Tray Racers! for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Tray Racers!, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
