The 90’s Arcade Racer: some gameplay footage

The 90's Arcade RacerThe 90’s Arcade Racer is as straightfoward a game as it gets: as the name implies, it’s a racing game inspired by all those classic arcade racers that came out in the 90’s on Arcade and consoles. Its gameplay is radically different from the simulations we’re used to nowadays (such as Drive Club or Gran Turismo), and should definitely please players who are looking for a more arcade-oriented racing game.

On Sunday, the developers posted an updated on Kickstarter, and reported that they’re done implementing all gameplay elements (including the AI and the GUI elements). Right now, they’re focusing on setting up the two player splitscreen and the championship mode, as well as polishing, optimizing and bug fixing.

They posted a video so that backers (and non-backers) could check out their progress (make sure to pick up either 720p or 1080p for 60fps!):

They also showed the various in-game billboards from backers (it was one of the rewards for a certain tier):
