Splatoon 2: details on the Octoling amiibo Gear

On November 9th (Europe, Japan) / December 7th (North America), Nintendo will release the latest set of amiibo for Splatoon 2: the Octoling Girl, the Octoling Boy, and the Octoling Octopus figures. Today, the Squid Research Lab shared its latest report, which happens to be about those very amiibo!

Just like all previous Splatoon and Splatoon 2 amiibo, those Octoling amiibo will allow you to unlock some exclusive Gear not available anywhere else. If you want it, you will have to get the amiibo figures!

Here’s the special pieces of Gear you can unlock with the amiibo:

  • Octoling Girl: Gear from the Enchanted series. Unlocks the Enchanted Hat, Enchanted Robe, and Enchanted Boots (Japanese names; English names TBC). Those make you look like a wizard or a witch!
  • Octoling Boy: Gear from the Steel series (“Takotical” in Japanese, which is a pun on Tako + Tactical, Tako meaning Octopus in Japanese). Unlocks the Steel Helmet, Steel Armour, and Steel Shoes (English names TBC). Those make you look like a knight!
  • Octoling Octopus: Gear from the Fresh Fish series. Unlocks the Fresh Fish Head, Fresh Fish Gloves, and Fresh Fish Feet (English names TBC). Allows you to look like the mascot of Wahoo World (sadly, the balloons are NOT included in the set).

Here’s a video and some pictures for the exclusive gear unlocked by the Octoling amiibo:
