Shuten Order: second character trailer, details and footage for the 5 routes, more

Shuten Order is the latest game from Kazutaka Kodaka (of Danganronpa and Rain Code fame), and it has a rather unique twist: each one of the 5 routes offers completely different gameplay.

Here’s footage of the 5 routes:

• Ministry of Justice = Mystery Adventure. You have to solve a series of murders that occur at the mansion of a wealthy family. During your investigation and interviews with suspects, the “Snapping” system allows you to dig deeper into any words that seem suspicious. Collect evidence, use brilliant logic, and track down the murderer!

[Kukuri Mansion]
A huge mansion where the members of the Kuukuri family, the most prestigious family in Shuten. The vast grounds, which include the tiled main house and a botanical garden, are surrounded by a moat and look almost like a castle.
Many of the residents, including the head of the family, are eccentric.

• Ministry of Health = Extreme Escape Survival. A dark and spooky 3D labyrinth… Fiendishly clever puzzles that block your path and need to be solved if you want to keep exploring… and stay alive. Unfair rules that pits the participants against each others. In order to survive this death game and make your escape, you will need to fight and cooperate with the other participants.
• Ministry of Science = Multi-Perspective Novel. A visual novel told from the point of view of multiple characters, each having their own thoughts. Make use of the chronological flowchart to navigate through the multiple branching scenarios and reach all the endings.
• Ministry of Education= Romance Adventure (?). After being poisoned by Honoka Kokushikan, Rei is invited to a school where he meets three girls that all claim to be Kokushikan. In order to find the real one and get your hands on the antidote, you will need to deepen your relationship with them and make a successful confession.
• Ministry of Security = Stealth Action Horror. You are thrown into a 3D map where a dangerous killer known as Nephilim roams. Your goal is to explore the map while avoiding the killer. To survive, you will need to make use of various gimmicks.

Next, we have the second character trailer for the game, which introduces Yugen Ushitora (voiced by Yuki Ono):

  • Everyone in the Kukuri family takes advantage of her and bullies her.
