Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows expansion announced

Plague of Shadows is a free expansion for Shovel Knight, coming out in Q2 2015. It allows you to play as the one and only Plague Knight, who goes on a quest of his own in order to concoct the Serum Supernus (known as the Ultimate Potion). But for that, he needs some ingredients: to get them, he’ll have to defeat his former allies, from the Order of No Quarter.

This expansion will offer a brand new story and some brand new gameplay:

– New abilities: the Plague Knight can use some explosives, bomb jumps, as well as alchemy. It allows you to discover the game in a totally new way;
– Crafting: the Plague Knight can craft items thanks to the Alchemy System, allowing you to create equipment and power-ups (you can also collect new recipes during the adventure);

Even if you have already played the game several times, the expansion will offer plenty of new stuff to do, with new objectives and enemies, brand new areas and new paths, new bosses, and new feats… that’s a lot of new’s!

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows will be available as a free expansion during Q2 2015, on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. It will be playable this week-end at PAX East, on Yacht Club Games booth (#6224).
