Next week, RPG Maker Fes will be released on Nintendo 3DS in Japan. This game/software allows players to create their very own RPG, and while accessible, it does offer quite a lot of depth. There’s plenty of paramaters and variables to edit, and the game comes with plenty of pre-set elements to create the world of your RPG with.

For players who already know they will need more elements, Kadokawa will release some free and paid DLC at launch. There’s two types of DLC:

  • Modern theme elements (Free): includes characters and elements with a “modern” theme, which were popular among players of RPG Maker DS+. If you install this DLC, you will be able to use its elements along with those from the base game at the same time. In other words, you will be able to use both modern and classic themes in the same game. That way, you will be able to create a game with a story based on time travel, for example. Includes map elements, characters (character sprites, facial elements, illustrations, monster sprites), and more.
  • Special elements (200 Yen): includes elements to enrich the world of your game. Includes special signs, symbols, and more. Thanks to this DLC pack, you can even create a board game (as you can see on the screenshots below).

RPG Maker Fes (3DS) comes out on November 24th in Japan.
