Pokémon GO

To prepare for the arrival of the Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, Niantic has released two Software updates for Pokémon GO: one with the new content, and one with additional bug fixes. You can find more details about both on this page!

Also, Niantic has announced that the Metang evolved during this month’s Community Day (on October 21st) will know the powerful Steel-type move Meteor Mash.

Finally, three new boxes are now available in the in-game store:

  • Special Box (480 Coins): Incubator x3, Premium Raid Pass x2, Pinap Berry x10, Ultra Ball x20
  • Great Box (780 Coins): Incense x3, Super Incubators x5, Lucky Egg x1, Premium Raid Pass x3
  • Ultra Box (1480 Coins): Super Incubator x12, Premium Raid Pass x6, Star Piece x9, Lure Module x8

Pokémon Shuffle

Today, the latest set of content for Pokémon Shuffle went live. It includes the following:

  • Ultra Challenge = Xurkitree
  • Great Challenge = Kingdra, Turtwig (Winking), Rhyperior, Togekiss (Winking), Reshiram
  • Daily Pokémon = Slurpuff (Winking), Audino (Winking), Togetic (Winking), Carbink (Winking), Swirlix (Winking)
  • One Chance Per Day = Thundurus
  • Special stage = Salamence
  • Escalation Battle = Darkrai

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon – Battle Competitions

Today, not one but three new Battle Competitions for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were announced. Those will allow top players in Japan to try and earn a spot at the Pokémon World Championships 2019.

Here’s the three Battle Competitions:

  • November: 2018 International Challenge November. Uses Sun Series rules (no Mega Evolutions, Primal Reversions, or Z-Crystal). Top 30 players in Japan will earn an invite for the Pokémon World Championships 2019;
  • February: 2019 International Challenge February. Uses Moon Series rules (no Mega Evolutions, Primal Reversions, or Ultra Necrozma). Top 30 players in Japan will earn an invite for the Pokémon World Championships 2019;
  • April: Pokémon Japan Championships 2019 qualifier (Japan-only). Uses Ultra Series rules (Z-Crystals and Mega Evolutions allowed). Top 40 players in Japan will earn an invite for the Pokémon World Championships 2019.
